Get in2 running with our Couch to 5K sessions.
Did you know that regular running can help reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke, boost your mood and keep your weight under control?
The Couch to 5K plan is free for everyone to join and is designed to get you off the couch and gradually work you up to running 5K or for half an hour. The running programme is developed to help absolute beginners get into running.
The 30-minute sessions take place every Tuesday at 6.30pm and Thursday at 8.00pm at Barden Athletics Track with Burnley Athletic Club and every Saturday at 10.00am meeting at the Rotunda Cafe in Towneley park. All you need to do is register at www.upandactive.co.uk and bring your barcode to join in.

Volunteer Co-ordinators Needed
We’re on the lookout for two volunteer co-ordinators to run our popular Couch to 5k sessions from April 2017. If you’re passionate running and helping others, then we would love to hear from you.
We will be rewarding the two successful candidates with a free annual Burnley Leisure membership.
