How long have you worked for Sport & Play Development?

I have been working in sport and play development for 25 years now.

I started in 1989 as a part time playworker, working in local play buildings delivering play sessions, I went on to become a community play worker taking on extra duties working with over 50s’ and mums and tots groups.

Following a department restructure I secured the position of Play development officer where my role was to oversee all play centres and holiday clubs delivered by the department.

When the sport and play department moved across to the Leisure trust my role changed again to include sports development work as well as the holiday activities.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What hobbies do you have outside of work?

Due to a knee injury some 15 years ago I have been limited to what sports I can participate in but I do enjoy cycling and have completed the ride London 100 mile bike ride for the past 2 years. I have just got back into playing Golf and have just managed to bring my handicap down to 19.
