Burnley Community Sports Awards have been established to recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of local people and communities to sport, physical activity, and community development. The awards pay tribute to those who show dedication at a range of levels or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or community clubs, for the love of the sport or their community.
This year’s event takes place on Thursday 19th July at the Mechanics Theatre in Burnley hosted by Olympic Athlete Darren Campbell.
Nominations for each year’s awards are taken between January -April and are then shortlisted down to three nominees in each of the following categories:
- Community Club of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Adult Volunteer of the Year
- Community Primary School of the Year
- Community Secondary School of the Year
- Young Achiever
- Community Project of the Year
- Active Workplace
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Contribution to Women’s Sport
All shortlisted nominees are invited along to the event. Winners of all categories go forward to the Lancashire sports awards hosted by Lancashire Sport Partnership.
