Burnley Mechanics Theatre, Marketing Lancashire’s Cultural Venue of the Year 2016, has an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual who has an interest in developing a career in PR & Publicity communications.
The successful candidate will work in a small team helping with the promotion of the Mechanics shows and events. This will be done across all media channels, including press, radio, TV and social media, communicating to target audiences across a diverse range of shows and events. The Mechanics website is a core element of the sales process; you will help to ensure all elements of the site and connected social media platforms are relevant and up to date at all times.
You will also be supported to undertake a level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship in social media or digital marketing so you must be able to successfully complete a college assessment for the course.
Ideally you will have some experience of working in the entertainment, performing arts or hospitality industry. You will be creating content for a range of social media platforms so creative skills such as photography, film and design would be an advantage. You must have experience of using social media channels and of using Word, Excel, email and the internet. You must demonstrate you are able to follow instructions, work independently, be results focused and work well as part of a team.
You will be working on our box office, selling tickets and updating the customer database. Confidence in dealing with the public in a friendly professional manner both in person and on the phone will also be an important part of the job. This is an exciting time to join the Leisure Trust – the Mechanics is a dynamic theatre. If you think you have what it takes to play a part in our future success we would like to hear from you.
