Sports Apprentice

Full time Sport Apprenticeship. Starting at a training rate of £126.88 per week.

Based at St Peter’s and Padiham Leisure Centres you will gain a broad range of experience-based knowledge of services provided within Burnley Leisure. As this role incorporates lifeguarding; a minimum swimming ability is required and you will be required to undertake a swimming test in addition to satisfying college assessments. In partnership with Burnley College we will support you through a comprehensive training programme, including NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications), which are recognised by employers across the country.
We are looking for self-motivated people who aspire to develop themselves and are committed to learning. You will need a good school, college or work record of attendance, good communication skills and be able to satisfy basic literacy and numeracy requirements. Evidence of your ability to work in teams and support others will also be required.

Details of the pool test:

  • Enter the pool safely
  • Swim on your front / back for a distance of 200 metres (8 lengths)
  • Swim under water for a distance of 5 metres
  • Swim to the bottom of the pool

Dates of the pool test:

  • Thursday 19th October at 8pm – St Peter’s Centre
  • Friday 20th October at 10am – St Peter’s Centre
  • Please indicate on your application form under “Additional Information” which test date you will be attending should your application be successful.
  • Interview date: 26th October.

Closing date: Friday 6th October 2017


Casual Recreation Attendant

General duties include the day to day operations of leisure facilities at St Peters and Padiham Leisure Centres. You would be responsible for the supervision of swimming pools, high standards of cleanliness, erecting and dismantling equipment and customer care. You must have experience of cleaning operations and be able to pass swimming tests.  It is essential you possess, or are capable of attaining, a current Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.   See further information and apply…


Casual Receptionist

We currently require receptionists to work on a casual basis at St Peters and Padiham Leisure centre. This role will require you to work on front of house dealing with customer enquiries, membership sales, answering telephone calls and dealing with money transactions. Casual Group Fitness Instructors

Salary ranges from £9.40 to £18.75 per hour depending on activity undertaken

Both Padiham and St Peter’s Leisure Centres offer industry leading exercise facilities; all the latest classes and gym equipment with a true passion to reach out to those that don’t just want to exercise but want to change their lifestyle.  If you have a passion for fitness and wellbeing, we are looking for an innovative individuals to join our successful Fitness Instructor Team.

You must hold a recognised qualification in your specific activity at level 2 standard or above.  You must be an experienced Instructor able to deliver Aerobic Fitness Programs and Gym Instruction at both of our leisure centres. We would particularly welcome applicants trained in the following areas; Spinning, Aqua Yoga, Pilates and any Group Mossa program.
