This summer Burnley Leisure is staging an all-around sports competition based on the 1970s cult television show Superstars.
Held on Sunday, 2nd July, the event will see sports enthusiast battle it out against each other to determine the greatest athlete in the area.
They will compete in six sport and fitness disciplines that are guaranteed to put them through their paces.
The unique competition will be based at Prairie Sports Village in Windermere Avenue and feature a 50 metre sprint, 2k run, gym test as well as challenges including football, netball, golf and indoor cycling and rowing.
Just like in the TV show, points will be awarded for each activity and the competitor with the most points at the end of the day will be declared the champion.
Entries are open to people of all abilities 14-years-old and over.
Printed application forms are available from St Peter’s and Padiham leisure centres and the event venue Prairie Sports Village.
They can also be obtained by emailing email@example.com or visiting burnleyleisure.co.uk.
St Peter’s Leisure Centre manager Garry Stein said: “Burnley Leisure Superstars event is a great platform to test your speed, power and endurance, no matter your fitness level.
“The event promises to be a great day out whether you’re taking part or cheering on the participants, so I’d like to encourage everyone to sign up and give it a go.”
