Your safety is our priority

To keep everyone safe during the Coronavirus pandemic, we’d like to remind you of the following guidelines whilst playing squash at Burnley Leisure:

  • Due to current government guidelines, you can only play with members of your own household or social bubble
  • Please book in advance, online or over the phone, before arrival
  • Please keep personal hygiene in mind when playing
  • Bring your own raquet
  • Don’t touch the squash court walls

Read all the safety guidelines from England Squash here.

Ways to play

Households/bubbles can play full squash matches/games

Individuals can practice single player/solo squash

Two members from different households can play ‘Sides’ (see below) or practice at a social distance

Sides – a safe way to play!

As with all sports, squash clubs/venues are only allowed to reopen so long as activities can be modified in such a way that social distancing can be maintained throughout. We recommend ‘Sides’ as it’s a modified/adapted version of the game which allows players to meet social distancing measures, with each player remaining in their own half of the court at all times. View the video below from England Squash on how to play ‘sides’.
