It’s time to dig out your glow sticks as a danceathon fundraiser hits Burnley on Sunday, 20 September.
Organised by Burnley Leisure’s Get in2 team, an hour and a half event will allow participants to learn new dance moves, raise money for good causes and have a great time with friends and family.
Andrea Pilling, project activator at Burnley Leisure said: “We are excited about holding our first ever danceathon and hope for it to be a popular event.
“Danceathon is a really fun, easy-to-follow dance workout with rave glow sticks, disco balls and banging tunes. It’s like a night out without the hangover and we look forward to welcoming lots of enthusiastic people.”
The event goers will enjoy a mixture of club anthems from 80s and 90s to today’s hits. It is open to people of all age and dancing abilities.
The danceathon take place at Pure Nightclub on Hammerton Street between 5pm and 6.30pm. The doors open at 4.30pm.
Tickets cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for under 18s, and £1 for under 10s.
All proceeds collected on the day will be split between Lymphoma Association and Burnley Leisure, which aims to increase sporting opportunities for women and girls in Burnley area.
