What a better way to kick start your day than by trying these easy stretch exercises which can be done from the comfort of your bed.

 

  1. Overhead stretch
    Lying on the bed, stretch your arms above your head for as far as feels comfortable, you should feel the stretch throughout the whole body.
  2. Leg stretch – still in a lying position, lift one leg upright, supporting it with both hands wrapped mid-way round the leg. Pull inwards to your chest if you want to feel an extra stretch. Repeat with the other leg.
  3. Knee rolls
    1. Lying down, put your arms out to the side of you and bend your knees. Roll your knees to one side, keeping the knees touching and ensuring your whole upper body stays in contact with the bed. Remain in the stretch for as long as you feel the benefit.
    2. Repeat on the other side.
  4. Upper body rotation

    1. Sitting on the end of the bed with your feet flat on the floor, take your arms up to your chest and rotate from the torso to the left. Try to keep your hands in the middle of your chest at all times.
    2. Repeat on the other side.
