Volunteering

help your community, learn new skills & widen your employment opportunities.

Become a volunteer at Burnley Leisure to help your community, learn new skills, improve your CV, gain qualifications and widen your employment opportunities.

Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer. It gives you valuable experience, helps you gain confidence and life skills and it helps open doors to career opportunities.

Burnley Leisure support anyone aged 14+ with a wide variety of project areas, including holiday clubs, hospitality, recreation activities at the Boathouse & sport specific activities such as rounders, running and golf activities. We also offer experience working with specific target groups, including women and girls; young people not in Education Employment or Training (NEET) and young people at risk of committing crime and anti-social behaviour.

We have fantastic opportunities for people wanting to volunteer; these might involve helping out with our popular Couch to 5k programme, to working on children’s holiday camps, to ‘meet and greet’ opportunities at the theatre or sports centre.

We can give you the chance to learn new skills, improve your CV and employment options, gain new qualifications, or simply the satisfaction of helping the community. In return we need responsible people, who are presentable, reliable, and with good communication skills. We also offer expenses to all volunteers to ensure all travel, meals and out of pocket expenses are covered.
